When I was just a little kid
I'ld always do exactly what I did
But one day I knew I would be an alligator.
And every year on Halloween,
I'ld do myself from head to toe in green.
When I grow up I mean to be an alligator.

Should I cut my teeth? Should I grow a beard?
My mother always said that I's a little weird.
You got to have a plan, so you can follow through.
But when I close my eyes I always do.
I'm the alligator, I'm the alligator, I'm the alligator, I'm the a-

The only way to stand apart
And hit them with a poison, yellow dart
Is make them all remember whose the Alligator.
I'ld bite you just to show I care.
A gator could live nearly anywhere.
The posters should say dare to be an alligator.

My cousins all would go; out, walking in the sand;
Collecting gator teeth, protected in their hand.
I never got to touch. I always wanted more.
I never got as much or what to look for.

I'ld be the wildest of the beasts;
Command respect to only say the least.
A bloody feast is always for the alligator.
This world is only make believe,
And who knows what God's keeping up his sleeve,
But one day I hope I can be an Alligator.
I'm the alligator, I'm the alligator, I'm the alligator, I'm the alligator.
